Therapist Positions at Divergent Worlds
At Divergent Worlds we embrace all of elements of a private practice environment: therapy relationships, business development, and the joys, privileges, and challenges of creating and maintaining a healing and healthcare practice. We combine the benefits of an independent private practice with the benefits of having a collaborative community to support us along the way. Positions are available for licensed therapists, and pre-licensed associates to join our team.
Who We support
In therapy, we welcome queer, trans and gender expansive, non-monogamous, BDSM and kink practitioners, nerd subcultures, complex trauma, disabled, and neurodivergent folks, and their communities, integrating a variety of trauma informed, human and client centered practices. Each therapist here is welcome and encouraged to create and include their own niches and clients as well, when they align.
What We Do
We approach supervision, therapy, and private practice from liberatory, neurodivergent affirming, anti-carceral, trauma informed, anti-oppressive spaces and support the ongoing learning and growing practice of creating a supportive space for both ourselves, our colleagues and peers, our clients, and our communities.
We provide psychotherapy and supervision in California, and in-person in San Francisco. All supervision is currently provided by me (Rachel, hi). I have experience working and supervising in private practice, community mental health, and LGBTQ focused agencies across San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley.
To join us, you don’t need to be an expert or have experience with every group of people we support or modality we include. We are looking for curiosity, openness, non-judgment, and awareness of your own limits and needs.
The practice holds open opportunities for licensed and pre- licensed associates to find and express who they are in private practice: grapple with the field, find what therapy means to them, deepen and expand skills and approaches, explore what it means to have a healing/therapy practice that also exists as a business, and include the lived experiences and needs of yourself and the folks you work with. As a member of our team, we offer referrals as they are available, support you as you generate your own, provide documentation and policies to get you started, and support as you build and expand your styles and approaches.
Private Practice Supervision for Pre-licensed Associates
I welcome associates on the path to licensure for a variety of psychotherapy licensure types: Psy.D., Ph.D., ASW, AMFT, and APC. In our practice, we can sign off on hours, offer individual and group supervision, provide support for developing a private practice when you are licensed, identify and support your therapy identities and styles, deepen clinical skill sets, and assist in creating a path to licensure that is as smooth as it could be.
I am grateful for the opportunities I had in supervision to learn about my own process as a therapist, and our practice evolved to support incoming therapists as they create a space for themselves as a therapist. I supervise from a relational, feminist, trauma-informed, liberation centered perspective, and welcome all therapeutic styles and methods that integrate well with those ideas.
Licensed Associate Positions
We have opportunities for licensed therapists to join us. We can connect with you around building or re-energizing your practice, developing referrals, learning business and private practice skills, exploring new modalities and deepening current skills and approaches, and connecting to aligned colleagues.

Agency and Practicum Supervision
I have experience with providing supervision for individual and group therapy. Additionally, I have conducted process groups for students as an introduction to providing therapy. I believe it is important to understand our own strengths, and to create a path in therapy work that feels authentic.
I have been an adjunct supervisor for graduate therapy students in training atThe Pacific Center In Berkeley, CA. andQueer LifeSpace in San Francisco, CA. I am not currently working directly with any outside agencies.
